249/365 - Nike Free Shoes

These are my shoes. I bought them about a month or so ago and they have had good use so far. I really love shoes when they are perfectly worn in and fit my feet perfectly. It's a fine line though between good worn in shoes and worn out shoes.
Anyway, enough about my shoes. Tonight we did Insanity again and it is still a crazy insane workout. It really is a work out for your body and your mind. My brother and our friend came to work out with us tonight and they did great.

248/365 - Hint of Lime Chips

A lot of people have a sweet tooth or crave chocolate. But my weakness is salty food. One of my favorite things to eat is Tostito's Hint of Lime chips. I know that it's probably not too good for me, but I figure it's better to eat just a little then to not eat any at all and the splurge and over eat later.
But seriously, I LOVE to eat! Since I've starting trying to watch what I eat, I've noticed that I really do live for my next meal. Which is kind of sad. I'm trying to learn to shift my focus from food onto other things. I'm still struggling with keeping my diet clean.

247/365 - Rest Day

Yesterday took so much out of me that I spent the whole day today resting. So today I have a picture of a book I'm reading. I picked it up yesterday because we were right next to Logo's bookstore and I've been wanting to read this one for a while. I was so happy to find that it was on sale at a special price of only $5.97! Woo hoo! Lucky me!
I'm about half way through and this book is scary and a little weird. I've read a lot of Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker books so this is right down their alley.

246/365 - KCC/Hale Koa/Ola Nui

I'm updating a little late because we got home super late last night and I was exhausted. Yesterday, I started off the day really early. We went to help my Mom's friend at the KCC Open Market. It was pretty fun, we helped cook salmon tofu patties and lumpia and make plate lunches and burgers.
After that, we went to the Hale Koa hotel to put down a deposit for our wedding! So now we are confirmed and ready to start planning the next details of wedding.
Then last night, we went to Ola Nui for the Button Mashers Art Show. It was a fundraising event for the Grace Bible Church. My fiance was spinning records and my brother had some of his photography up. It was a really good time!

245/365 - Wellness Fair

We had our first Wellness Fair at work today so it was a pretty busy day. We had Jamba Juice come and the company subsidized our drinks so we only had to pay $1 for a 16oz. Jamba. So even though I'm supposed to be watching what I'm eating, I had 2! I tried the Razzmatazz and Strawberries Wild.
Worked out again tonight doing Insanity. It went pretty well and I think I'm really starting to like to exercise. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day so I will go to sleep now.

244/365 - Menchie's/Michael Jackson

So first of all, I was totally shocked to hear about Michael Jackson's death today. He really was a brilliant musical artist. What kind of amazes me and it's also kind of sad, is that for years it seemed like no one liked him but when he dies everyone rallies and he's is back on top. It takes his death for him to be "cool" again.
My fiance surprised me with some Menchie's as a snack this afternoon! What a sweetheart! This was the first time I had Menchie's and I think it might be my favorite of all the yogurt places. I will have to try it again just to be sure.

243/365 - Recovery Drink

So, today I'm not feeling as sore as I was on Saturday (which was the day after my first Insanity workout), but I'm still a little sore. Anyway, this is the P90X Results and Recovery Formula. You take it within 1 hour after your workout and it's designed to give your body all the things it needs to help you recover faster and replace all the stuff your body lost/used during the workout. And best of all, it tastes so good! Like an orange bang from Zippy's but good for you!

242/365 - Max Lucado

I'm reading a new book called Every Day Deserves a Chance by Max Lucado. I actually bought this book a few months ago, but I'm only getting to read it now. It was on sale at Barnes and Noble for just $5.98 (regular price $19.99)! I was very shocked to see that because Max Lucado's books are usually never on sale. I guess I was just meant to get this book and read it. So far, it's pretty good. He makes you rethink about how you think about things. I really like the way he writes because it really gets me to think deeper then normal and start to analyze things. Helps to keep things in perspective.

241/365 - Eye Doctor

This is a picture of the eye doctor's office. I had my yearly checkup today. I don't mind going to the eye doctor, I just hate the part where he puts the yellow drops in my eye to numb it to check my eye pressure. That's the junkest part cause that stuff stings and makes your eyes feel weird. But that's nothing compared to the dentist...I hate the dentist! But I will have to make an appointment for that sometime soon, I haven't been in a while.
I did an upper body work out yesterday and today my whole body hurts! My legs still hurt from Friday and now my arms and body hurt today. I've never been this sore in my whole life, every muscle hurts! Yay!

240/365 - Flame Broiled Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! We had a Father's Day Luncheon/Buffet at the Hawaii Prince Golf Course. It was delicious and so much food!
For dinner, we barbecued at home. We had some steaks, chinese peas, potato salad and portuguese sausage. It was really good! Then we all just cruised in the garage for a while listening to the boys playing on the turntables. We had a nice relaxing night at home.

239/365 - 50th State Fair

I have to admit. My legs are pretty sore today. When I first woke up it wasn't sore but as the day went on it got more and more sore. I still exercised today, but took it a little easier on the squats.
Tonight a couple of friends and I went to the 50th State Fair. We didn't stay too long, just rode a few rides, ate some food and just hung out. It started getting busier as it got later so we left kinda early. This is the last weekend for the fair so I figured it would be busy. The best part was that I got to eat Lau Lau and a Caramel Apple.

238/365 - YWCA Luncheon/Insanity

Today was the Annual YWCA Leaders Luncheon. I took a picture of the carrot cake because it was pretty. It was a pretty inspiring luncheon with 10 women leaders being awarded. Makes me want to go out and do good.
Tonight we went to work out with some guys from Team Kahakai Kino. We did the new Insanity workout from Beachbody. And let me just say, Insanity is a fitting name for it! I am beat! It was the hardest work out of my life, but it felt so good! I'm going back on Tuesday to work out with some of the girls. It should be fun!

237/365 - 101 in 1001

So, as you may have already noticed, I like to do projects where there is a set finish date and a goal to work towards. For example, this Project 365 blog and the Power 90 program (90 days to fitness). So I found a really cool new project to start. It's called 101 in 1001 and the point is to set 101 goals and to finish them in 1001 days. Click here for the official website.
I will be starting this today, as you can see from the picture, my list is coming along. And the finish date will be Thursday, March 15, 2012. Once I have my list up and running, I'll start a new 101 in 1001 blog and post the link here so you can follow even more of my adventures!

236/365 - The Knot Book

My friend Sarah gave me this book for my birthday. It's really cool because we have an account at theknot.com so this is a really helpful supplement to that. As I was looking through the book, it made me feel better because it breaks everything down into manageable lists so it's not so overwhelming.
My fiance and I went to Starbucks tonight to work on some plans for our wedding. We're starting to get things together so that's good. And then, I forgot our wedding binder there when we left. :( Hopefully they found it and we can pick it up tomorrow.

235/365 - Back Massager

My back was a little sore today. I think it's probably because I've been trying my hardest to exercise at the next level. So I used this nifty back massager that we have at home, the label on it is called "New Hipush" and you can buy it at Shirokiya. My grandparents had one just like it at their house and I can remember it from way back when I was little.
So, I got to thinking...what was the person thinking when they designed this massager? I imagine it to be like, "My back hurts. I think I will bend this metal stick and put a rubber stopper at the end so I can massage my own back." It's really a brilliant invention because it's so easy to use and you can massage your own back!

234/365 - Step on a Crack

This book was really good and hard to put down. So hard, that I started it yesterday and stayed up until 1AM to finish reading it! It's by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge and it's a story about a police detective whose family is going through some tough times while he has to deal with a major hostage situation. I didn't really like other James Patterson books that I started so I wasn't expecting much when I picked this up but I was surprised. I guess I will have to try more of his books.

233/365 - Skeleton Creek

I started reading this book yesterday and finished it today. It's a book that is written like it's a journal and it has links that you use to go online and watch videos that correspond with the book. It's a sort of ghost story/mystery type series and it's made for kids (but it's good for grown ups too). The story and some of the videos were pretty scary and on one of them I actually yelled out loud cause I got so scared. And I scared everyone in the house by yelling. :)
It kind of ends junk, but I think it's because there is another book coming out. I hope it comes out soon because I want to know what happens next!

232/365 - Waltman-Ota Wedding

Our friend Micah and Talisha got married today! I took a picture of my drink since it's been so long since I've had a drink. This is an Amaretto Sour. Mmmm.....
Anyway, it was a nice, small wedding. We had a great time chatting with old friends and just hanging out. They had Hawaiian food which was really yummy. And we got some more ideas about how we want our wedding to go and the timeline/order of the reception.

231/365 - Fat Dog

This is Poki. He looked exceptionally fat lying down tonight so I had to take his picture. This is their "launch pad", it's actually a futon bed with pillows on top so they can jump on and off our bed. Otherwise the bed is too high and the can't reach. We actually bought doggie steps for them before but they didn't like it for some reason. Anyway, maybe after Poki sees this picture, he will be motivated to lose some weight.

230/365 - Mehana at Kapolei

Today we headed out to Kapolei to see the townhouses at a job site that my fiance was inspecting. We were happy to find that they were open so we got to tour some of the houses. Let me just say, I'm sold! I want to live there so badly now! They are a little expensive, but it would be nice to live so close to work and they are all brand new. I will try and post more about this later and maybe even post some video we took.
So, the picture you see today was when we were driving around Kapolei. If you look closely you can see that it's a left turn only lane. The funny thing is there is no road for you to drive in and turn left from!!! Funny kine! Another funny thing we saw today was a student driver who wrote out their "Student Driver" sign out of regular white copy paper and pen. But the sign was good because right after we saw that sign, the student drive almost sideswiped us! So I guess the sign served it's purpose in warning us. Oh my...it really makes me wonder, do I want to live in Kapolei???

229/365 - Palm Pre

We picked up the new Palm Pre this past Saturday. When I was watching/reading about all the hype about it, I was excited about one thing in particular, the wireless charging. It is able to be charged just by setting it down on a magnetic "touchstone". But, as we found out later, this is sold separately. Junk. The way they were promoting it I thought it was going to come with it. So anyway, now we're trying to get one but the Sprint store is always sold out! I went during the day and I called at night and it seems like everytime they just ran out. I guess it's not meant to be. Maybe later.

228/365 - Rubik's Cube

This is my Rubik's Cube. When I was good at it I could solve it in less than 2 minutes. I haven't picked it up in almost a year and when I mixed it up tonight, I thought I wasn't going to be able to fix it. But after a while it just came together. I'm still trying to remember how I did it, but I guess I will have to keep practicing.
It's a busy week at work which is making me more tired at night. That's why these blogs have been kinda short.

227/365 - Puzzling

We like to do puzzles in my house. Seems like there is always a puzzle being made. It is really relaxing to just sit and make puzzles and watch tv.
I'm pretty tired tonight and I think I will turn in early. I need to get back on a normal sleep schedule. The weekends always throw me off because I stay up late and sleep in and take naps.

226/365 - Doggie in the Window

After breakfast as Zippy's this morning, we walked by the pet store and saw this adorable daschund/chihuahua puppy. We stood and watched her for a bit because she was so cute. She would watch the people walking by and bark at other dogs outside. Usually the puppies in the window just ignore everyone outside but not this one.
I wanted to get her, but I would like to get married even more.

225/365 - Flip Video

I bought a new Flip Video camera today. It was about $200 and it can film 2 hours of video. I want to start filming things more because time goes by so fast and without anything to remind you, it's easy to forget. After I got over hearing my recorded voice, it's okay. I still don't like it, but that's the way I sound to everyone else so it's okay. Just got to get used to it.
Maybe sometime soon I will be able to post a video on this site. :)

224/365 - Fast Food Nation

Started reading this book yesterday and I'm about a third of the way through. I bought this way back in college because it was on a reading list for one of my classes. I never did finish it (I got about half way through) and saw it lying around the house the other day. So, now I'm reading it.
So far this year, I have read 42 books. My goal is to read 100 books this year so I'm pretty much on track but I would like to pick it up a bit. We'll see how it goes.

223/365 - Ghost Town

We watched Ghost Town tonight that we got off of Netflix. It was a cute funny movie about a man who dies briefly and then comes back to life and can talk to ghosts. It's kind of like Ghost Whisperer. It had a good moral to the story and it was funny too so I liked it.

222/365 - Phiten

I got this Phiten necklace for my birthday. Stitch is modeling it here because I didn't want to post a picture of myself and it would look weird if I just took a picture of it on my neck. Plus it looks cute on him. Anyway, click on the link above for more information on Phiten products.
And a special thanks to Stitch for posing so nicely for the picture (Even though he growled at me and was grouchy).

221/365 - Coach

I am officially a Coach with Team Beachbody (the makers of P90x). I took a picture of my Coach's (Dallas Carter) business card. He was actually the grand prize winner for 2008 and he won $250,000 in the Million Dollar Body Game. In any case, I am now a coach and if you are interested in getting fit and healthy let me know and I can forward you on my website that you can check out.

220/365 - The Knot

The Knot is a free website that helps you with the details of planning your wedding. It gives you ideas, a place to keep a guest list and you can even have a free website about you and your wedding.
I found this website when I was surfing the web. I just happened to see that Grey's Anatomy (the tv show) had made a fake page for Meredith and Derek's wedding in the show. I thought it was neat but had no use for it (I wasn't engaged yet). Then I got engaged and now I can use it. :)
So this has been my main tool for getting things straight and getting ideas for my wedding. So far, so good.
