188/365 - Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Netflix tonight. We watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I don't usually like to watch shows with talking animals, but this one was not too bad. It was a little silly but entertaining. And the chihuahua's were so cute!
My sinuses have been acting up and leaving me feeling miserable! I'm trying to take some over the counter medication to see what works the best.

187/365 - Three

I'm almost finished reading this book called Three by Ted Dekker. It an amazing suspense story that keeps you guessing. I like the way Ted Dekker writes, he is a Christian fiction author that blends in his faith into his writing seamlessly. I am very glad the public library carries a lot of his books because now I can borrow them and return it when I'm done. :)

186/365 - Salad Dinner

Tonight for dinner we had a spinach salad with mushrooms, broccoli, eggs and tuna. It was pretty good. I guess I'm kinda getting used to eating salads. I'm not really craving rice anymore which is good. I'm feeling a bit tired and have a head ache so I think I will go sleep now.

185/365 - Rice Cakes

These things are seriously a dieters best friend. Quaker Quakes Rice Snacks - Ranch Flavor. They are really really good! And just 70 calories if you eat 10 of the bite sized cakes! They taste amazingly awesome for something that's good for you. As you can see in the background, a couple of my previously blogged on items, Diet Cran-Grape juice and Muscle Milk.
I'm a little worried about this swine flu that is all over the news. I guess we'll just have to wait and be prepared.

184/365 - Cran-Grape

Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Grape is my new favorite drink. Well, it's either this or water, so I don't have much selection. But this drink has just 5 calories per serving and it tastes delicious! I'm trying to stay away from the diet colas because I don't want to get addicted to caffiene again, so this will do just fine.
Exercise is still going great!

183/365 - Aiea Library

We went to the Aiea Library today. The parking was very crowded (it could have been because they were having a book sale) and the library was a little stuffy and hot. But the book selection was pretty good.
For lunch today, I had The Rio Bowl at Down to Earth in Pearl City. It's actually Acai with granola and banana's on top. It's been such a long time since I had one of these and it was really good! I'd forgotten how good they were. Now I think I'm going to have to go there more often.

182/365 - 5000 Staples

I hit a milestone at work today. Since the day I started, I've had the same box of staples and today I used the last one. Well, technically I didn't use it yet, but it is in my stapler so I count it as used cause I ain't taking it out. Anyway, I thought it was pretty exciting so I shared it with some people and they looked at me like I was kinda crazy. Hahaha. But honestly, I don't really staple all that often, so for me to have used 5000 staples is a big deal. And it only took me two years to do it!

181/365 - Sad Poki

This is Poki. Poki is sad because my folks are out of town so he is lonely. Plus we were watching Supernatural tonight and there is a lot of loud noises in the show so he was scared. Poki doesn't really like action movies either because of the loud noises. Fireworks too. My two dogs are so different that it's kinda funny.

180/365 - Starbucks

This picture is a table at Starbucks. I like these tables because they have words that go around and around in circles and it's fun to read. Most of the writing is nonsense though but some of them have some neat little phrases.
Today was a long day at work. I had lots to do and I wanted to get a lot done. It seems like this week is going by so slowly. It doesn't help that I woke up yesterday thinking it was Wednesday even though it was only Tuesday. Now the week seems like it's taking even longer. But soon it will be the weekend. Hooray!

179/365 - Runner's World

Happy Birthday to my boyfriend!!! We went out to eat dinner at Chili's tonight and then went holo holo (crusing) for a bit at Waikele.
Exercising is going well and I wanted to kick it up a notch. So, I picked up a copy of the new Runner's World magazine tonight. I am planning on taking up running in the afternoons to supplement my morning work outs. I've always really admired runners and how they just keep going and going and never get tired. It amazes me! So, that's what I'm going to try to be. My difficult point is just going to be sticking to it. But you can't stick to it if you don't start, so here I go!

We watched a few episodes of The Office tonight. And we got to see the best Jim Halpert face ever. We even paused it so I could get a picture. Isn't it great!
My shoulders are killing me today! We were doing some punches yesterday and I knew I was tired but I didn't know how sore I would be today. I can barely lift my arms up.

177/365 - One Week

One week down! Today marked day 7 of Power 90. Feeling pretty good, but learned today that what I put into my body makes a difference. Didn't really eat too clean today so suffered with a sore stomach.
Today was a "rest" day but I still went outside and did some weight training and some punching and kicking. I am beginning to get used to exercise. Now I actually like to get moving and I feel better after too. It's fun.

176/365 - OrangeTree

OrangeTree has come to Kapolei! The grand opening was today and we were headed down to Target to pick up some stuff anyway so we stopped by afterwards. My initial review of it is that it was okay, but I still prefer Yogurtland. OrangeTree seemed like it didn't have as many flavors and the one I got (orange) tasted a little funny. The toppings they had were pretty much the same though. I guess I will have to go a few more times before I officially decide whether I like it or not.

175/365- Eatin' Clean

Today marks day 5 that I've been eatin' clean. I just picked up that concept on some forums I've been reading. It helps when I start thinking about wanting to eat candy or junk food.
Everything is going good. I'm not feeling sick anymore and I'm getting more used to not eating as much. Still feel a little tired though; I guess I just have to get used to waking up at 5AM every morning. I'm sure my energy levels will go up once I get used to it.
And it's finally the weekend! Yay!

174/365 - The Ceiling

This is my bedroom ceiling. Since the room I'm in used to be my brothers room those are his decorations on the ceiling. If you can't tell, they are bottle caps in a random design. Some of them fell off over the years so that's why there are gaps. Also in this picture is the smoke detector in our room.

173/365 - Cottage Cheese

I first tried cottage cheese four days ago. And eating a few bites and getting used to it...I love it! Well, not cottage cheese plain, but I love these cottage doubles which have some strawberry topping to go with it. It is totally yummy! The picture taken to the right is our fridge and as you can see we are totally stocked. So far in the diet, it is one of my favorite things to eat.

172/365 - Sweat and Abs w/Power 90

Today I started the second part of Power 90 which was the Sweat and Abs workout. From now on, it will alternate between Sweat/Abs and the Sculpt workouts. I woke up early this morning to get my workout done first thing and it worked out really well. I got lots of stuff done and got to have the evening off. I think this will work out well once I get used to it.
I've been eating broiled chicken and salad for dinner for the past couple of nights. It's been good, but I will have to start eating different things soon so I don't get tired of it.

171/365 - Power90

It's here! It's here! It's finally here!!! My Power90 came in the mail today! Woo hoo! Today started Day 1 with the workouts and with my diet. The workout was pretty hard, I was struggling to keep up and had to stop a few times. I especially have trouble with push-ups. I'll have to work on that.
The diet is going pretty well. I'm just trying to get used to eating smaller portions more often. I used to like to eat big meals just once or twice a day, but apparently that's what makes you store fat. So we will see how this works out.
Tomorrow, I am waking up extra early to get my workout done in the morning. That's going to be my plan, work out in the mornings. It just seems easier that way and it will be a great way to start the day and it will help me stick to my diet. At least I hope it will. Here we go....

170/365 - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Church this morning was awesome. Usually the morning worship is kind of quiet and slow, but this morning the worship team brought it! It was lively and exciting and moving. I think it should be that way every Sunday, even at the 7:30AM service.
We also went grocery shopping at Safeway today. I printed out my new meal plan and we tried to get everything on the list and not too much extras. I spent a little over $200 on one weeks worth of food! Hopefully it won't be so bad next week cause this week I had to buy all the dressings and olive oil and stuff. Anyway, the receipt on the right is just half of it. I couldn't fit the whole thing in a picture.
Also today, I started on cutting out soda from my diet. So I had a bad headache this morning because I haven't drank caffeine since Saturday morning. I took some ibuprofen and it's gone so hopefully that will work for any future headaches due to caffeine withdrawl.
Tomorrow begins day 1 for my diet, wish me luck!

169/365 - Muscle Milk Powder

I liked the ready to drink Muscle Milk so much that we went to GNC today and picked it up in the powder form. It seems easier to mix my own then to have to go buy the ready to drink and to have to chill it.
On another note, our garage gym is just about complete. It's getting cleaned up and it's actually a really fun place to hang out. We put up some barriers to so that the dogs can come out and chill. Poki likes to be out more than Stitch does, but I think they both like the fresh air.

168/365 - Muscle Milk

I am now drinking Muscle Milk Light for protein to help rebuild muscles quicker after workouts. Or at least that's what I think it does. I worked out yesterday and today my whole body is sore! It's good though, because at least I know that I worked something. Just gotta take it slow so I don't get injured or discouraged.
Also, we got an elliptical today. My boyfriend's co-worker was getting rid of their's so we got it for free! Woo hoo! Now we can do cardio too. I will try and post a picture of it soon.

167/365 - Kalua Pig Pizza

We made Kalua Pig Pizza for dinner tonight. It was actually pretty yummy! Today was also my first day doing a full workout with our new equipment. And I found out that my max for bench press is 75 pounds. Which is good I guess because I've never bench pressed before.
I got an email yesterday that my Power 90 system has been shipped so I can't wait for it to come in. In the meantime, I am slowly starting up on my own. It will be good for when it does come in so I don't totally shock my body when I start the exercises.

166/365 - Step One: Take Vitamins

Step one in my lose weight/get healthy plan is to start taking vitamins. I was taking vitamins before for a while, but just got lazy. So now, I am trying out Simply Nutrilite Women's Supplements. This should make it easier since they are individually packaged and cost about $0.73 per day. Now there are no excuses. I am committed to making smarter and better decisions.

165/365 - Bench and Weights

So, we have decided to turn half of our garage into a home gym. Tonight after dinner, we headed over to Sports Authority to look at some equipment. We ended up buying the bench set you see to your left and also a bar and some weights. I'm kinda of excited for it because now we'll have something at home that everyone can use.
On another note, I now have 200 days left of Project 365. It seems like I've done a lot, but there is still a long way to go!

164/365 - Another puzzle

We started yet another puzzle a few days ago. This one is of different kinds of beer from around the world. It's a pretty tough puzzle, 1500 pieces, so it's taking a little longer than the last one.
We bought Power 90 today online. It's a diet/exercise program and I am so excited for it to come in! Too bad they don't sell it in stores or we would have it already. But I will blog more when we get it. :)

163/365 - Another Sunday or should I saw Yogurt

We went to Yogurtland again today. But this time we ate it for lunch and not an add-on after already eating. As you can see from the picture, my yogurt int he front is bright and colorful and my boyfriends in the back is all dark. He's more of a chocolate type, while I'm more of the fruity type.
We started off the day with church, then breakfast at Hapa Grill. I forgot my wallet at home so we had to go all the way back home to get it after. Then we went back to Kapolei to Target and Petco. I wanted to check to see if the grooming prices at Petco were cheaper than where I usually take the dogs (it wasn't). Then we went to Best Buy and Yogurtland.
All in all, we had a very fun holo holo weekend! :) I hope we can do it again soon!

162/365 - Diamond Head Hike/Hawaii Kai Library

We had a fun-filled day today. We started out by hiking up Diamond Head. It was a difficult hike, but we made it all the way up to the top! It was so high up that I was scared to let go of the railing and take out my camera so I didn't get any pictures, but my boyfriend did.
After that we had some time to kill, so we went to Hawaii Kai Public Library. I liked this library because it was very open and roomy. After that, we went to Kahala Mall. We walked around and bought some much stuff, like a new mouse for the computer because the one we had was broken. Then we had lunch at The Counter.
And we did all of that before noon! We rested in the afternoon because we were so tired from being up and active all morning. Now, just chilling at home. :)

161/365 - TGIF

The work weeks just seem to keep getting longer and longer! It's probably just because we haven't had a holiday for a while and we our next holiday off is at the end of May.
The picture on the left is one of my favorite t-shirts. I lost it for a while, but just found it at the bottom of a drawer. It seems kinda mean, but I think it's hilarious! I need to get more shirts like this that make me smile. :)
We have lots planned for tomorrow, so I should have some good pictures.

160/365 - Magic Sunglasses

These are my magic sunglasses. They aren't really magic, but they do disappear and re-appear out of the blue from time to time. I think I bought them at least 3 years ago, with the intention of using them regularly. But I couldn't find them for awhile. It's very strange because I'll lose them and then magically find them again after a while. So anyway, they are back and I am using them and I thought I would take a picture before they grow legs and walk off again.

159/365 - McDonald's for Dinner

Ok, I'll admit, after the post a couple of days ago about taking more important pictures, I should be taking better pictures. But I am exhausted today and I had nothing better. It was a busy day at work and tomorrow will be busy as well. But anyway, we had McDonald's for dinner tonight. It was pretty good, but I'm starting to feel guilty about eating unhealthy now. :( I think I will have to try harder on my "get healthy" new years resolution. But in my defense, the McDonald's cup does say enjoy, so I'm only following instructions. :)
