These chips are delicious! When we went grocery shopping yesterday, I noticed these Ruffles Light chips on the shelf. I've never heard of it before but with half the calories of regular chips and no fat I had to try it. I had them with my lunch today and the really did taste just like regular Ruffles. Now I have a healthier alternative to chips instead of just rice cakes. Hooray!

309/365 - Learning Craps
Craps is fun. Well, rolling the dice is fun. The betting part is so confusing! I wonder who invented the game and how they decided all the rules. It seems to me that they just made them all up. I haven't even begun to learning yet and I'm already confused! I just roll the dice and watch for how everyone reacts to see if it was good or not. I just know that I either want to roll a 7 or 11 on the first roll and not a 7 or 11 after that. I guess I'll learn more as I play more, but I know definitely won't be playing in Vegas anytime soon.

308/365 - Higher Ground
We started out the day helpng out at the KCC Farmer's Market. Then we went over to Ala Moana to visit our friends kiosk. We did our Insanity workout at home and headed out to check out a friend play some music at Higher Ground. The picture on the right is Hope Mayo at Higher Ground. She is a phenominal musician, check out her website at www.hopemayomusic.com.

307/365 - NCIS
I watched a couple of episodes of NCIS: Season 2 tonight. My Mom's friend let us borrow so they've been watching it consistently and I've been watching an episode here and there. I don't want to get sucked into having to watch tv so I try to stay away. But this show is pretty good and I like Mark Harmon.Anyway, so tonight I realized how these types of shows hook you in. First, they give you just enough clues so you can pretty much guess who the bad guy is; this makes you feel smart. Then they throw in a plot twist at the end so you did guess the bad guy, but there is more to the story; this hooks you in because you never would have guessed this twist but you think...maybe I'll get it next time. So between the "making you feel smart" and the "hook", they've got you addicted.

306/365 - Golf Carts
I was working out a different office t0day and one of my co-workers called me down to check out something cool. When I got downstairs, I saw these two golf carts. One is a Hummer and the other is a Cadillac Escalade. So, I had to run back upstairs and grab my camera because I wasn't about to miss this. We don't own them so it's going back soon I guess.Anyway, today was a long day so I'm going sleep!

305/365 - Eat, Pray, Love
I bought this book a while ago at Book Off but just got around to reading it. I've heard around that it was a good book and have seen it on some best seller lists so when I saw it on sale for $1 I had to buy it.I was almost finished with it when I realized that it was missing the ending! It ended mid-sentence and the next page was the first page of the book again and continued on through the first chapter. I'm glad that I didn't really like the story to begin with or I would be really bummed. As it is, I'm glad I only paid $1 for it. Hopefully the rest of the books I bought from Book Off will have all of their pages.

304/365 - Heart Rate Monitor
Gave in and purchased a heart rate monitor today. I figure if I'm going to keep exercising like I do, it's a good tool to have. Now I can keep track of how I'm doing and exercise safer and smarter.Used it today for our workout and it went pretty well. I noticed that I have a high resting heart rate to begin with and it stays up pretty high after tht. It will be interesting to see how this all works out over the long term.

303/365 - Workout Gear
The newest addition to the workout gear family is my bandanna. So first it started with my ankle brace (which thankfully I don't need anymore). Second came Under Armor compression shorts. Third came gloves, so my sweaty hands don't slip on the mats. And last but not least we are adding in the bandanna. I was a little apprehensive about the bandanna at first because it looked kind of "gangsta" but since I cut my hair I needed a practical way to keep my bangs out of my face when I workout. There is nothing that irritates me more than my hair in my face. So after 4 test runs, the bandanna is officially welcomed into the family.

302/365 - Farmer's Market
After church this morning and on our way to breakfast, we stopped at a local Farmer's Market to check out what they had. It was a cute market with maybe about 20 or so vendors. We bought some fresh vegetables for the week.On another note, Menchie's, the frozen yogurt place opened up nearby so we ate some of that tonight for dessert. After trying Menchie's, Orange Tree and Yogurtland, I think that Yogurtland is my favorite so far.

301/365 - Tie-Dyed T-Shirt
My cousin's sons first birthday party today was 70's themed. So we got to tie-dye t-shirts. This was the first time I ever tie-dyed a shirt so it was a lot of fun. I think my shirt came out pretty nice. There was so much delicious food there too. I had some ono lau lau, sushi and chicken salad (among other things). Although it was a little hot today, we had fun. Now it's time to work off all that food!

300/365 - Strength Journal
Last weekend I took a class at church called Strength Within. It's a class that teaches you how to read the bible and apply it to your life. I really enjoyed the class and have been reading my bible and journaling every night. I really think it's helping me to understand stuff and make me a better person.I'm glad it's finally Friday and I'm looking forward to relaxing this weekend. I have a few things planned but it should be great!

299/300 - Recovery Ice Pop
After our workout at the Asylum tonight we had ice pops. I just call them recovery ice pops because it's after then workout and we are all cooling down. I'm hitting the point in my workouts now that I'm getting tired so I really need to push through. I am still very excited to start next month though. We will be doing a whole different set of harder workouts so it should be challenging and fun.

298/365 - Rainbow
Driving home from work today I saw a huge rainbow in the sky. It was the biggest rainbow I've seen in a while and it was really bright too. I'm glad I got a picture.Cut my hair today for the first time in over a year. It feels good to get a hair cut, I just feel cleaner or something. That's one reason why I like to grow it out so long and cut it; because when I do get it cut, I feel so much better.

297/365 - Copying
We are having a training class at work on Friday so I spent a good two and a half hours today just making copies of these big packets. It wasn't very interesting because the printer does all the work. I just had to stand by and feed it paper and be there in case it jammed or something. Although I got it all done, I didn't really feel like I had a productive day.We also had our first group workout at a park tonight. It was really fun because there was lots of space and it was out in the open so we had lots of fresh air and could look up at the sky. :)

296/365 - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
You will probably have to click on this picture to see it, but there is a little star in the center. I was surprised that my camera could even pick up this star. This was the brightest star in the sky and I always seem to be looking at it.Weather man Guy Hagi just said on the news that tonight is a dark night. And I got a picture of it. Oh yeah.

295/365 - Disney for Couples
When we went to Ala Moana yesterday, we stopped by Book Off in Shirokiya. I saw this really cool book in the $5 section. And though I usually try to stick to the $1 books at Book Off, I made an exception for this one. We are planning to go to Disney World for our honeymoon so I thought it was appropriate. The book was published in 2003 but I figure some stuff must still be applicable. Plus since it's an area we are not too familiar with any little bit helps and it's published by Fodor's which is a reputable company. My excitement for the wedding was renewed finding this book yesterday, so I worked a little on some wedding plans today.

294/365 - Carifolnia Roll
This morning I had my Strength Within class at the church office. It was a great class about bible study and application and I'm excited to put into practice what I learned. After that, my fiance and a couple friends headed out to Ala Moana to check out our friends new kiosk. He sells Bistro Blends which is a balsamic vinegar company. We stopped at Shirokiya afterwards and I noticed this sign. I wonder what a Carifolnia Roll is...hmm...is it something like a California Roll maybe? Hahaha!
293/365 - Trains, Cranes & Troublesome Trucks
After our workout tonight we had a little pot luck dinner because one of our friends is moving away for college. Anyway, my other friends almost 3 year old son insisted that I read to him. He kept saying, "Train, Train!" So finally I just picked him up and he grabbed the book he wanted. It was neat because he knew the story and would say the lines before I got to it. And what was even more amazing was that he sat still and let me read him the whole book! That's the first time I've ever read an entire book to a kid. Cool!

292/365 - Body Mint
I picked up some Body Mint at Wal-Mart tonight. I've tried this before and this stuff really does work. I figure since we've been exercising a lot I would give it a try again. It gives me confidence too because just in case deodorant doesn't work, I know that Body Mint will take care of it. Hahaha.I'm glad tomorrow is Friday already. Although I woke up this morning thinking it was already Friday. That ruined things. It's better to wake up on the weekend thinking you have to go to work instead of waking up on a weekday and thinking you have the day off. I hope that made sense, but anyway, it through off my whole day thinking. But tomorrow is for real Friday so yay!

291/365 - Panda Express
My fortune today said "Gold is in your future." How cool is that?!? I could really use some gold in my future. :)Small group tonight was pretty awesome. We had a big group and we all got to share in discussion. On a junker note, I got a questionnaire because I might be selected for jury duty sometime in the next year. :( It's not that I don't want to do my duty and serve, it's that I hate having to fight traffic into town and have to find parking. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

290/365 - The End of Overeating
I am reading this book by Dr. David Kessler called The End of Overeating and it's changing the way I think and the way I see food. I'm about half-way through so far and what they've mentioned so far is how food companies use three things: fat, sugar and salt in layer upon layer of food to make it appealing to you. These types of food fire chemicals in your brain that is linked to pleasure centers so you like them more. Unfortunately they are very unhealthy and bad for you. Now I'm starting to look at food and I'm thinking that that is just made up of fat and sugar and you don't need that. Of course thinking and doing are two different things, but I'm getting there. Taking control of my mind first. :)

289/365 - More Beachbody Please!
My order came in! Yay! I got more P90X Results and Recovery Formula, Chocolate Shakeology and my Metabolism Vitamins. It's so exciting to get mail in from Beachbody. It's like Christmas! Hahaha. So, we are bracing ourselves for Tropical Storm Felicia (or is it Tropical Depression? I don't know the difference). I'm really bummed that it has to get here on a Tuesday which is our normal group workout day. :( I had a few new people who wanted to come but we might have to cancel if it's raining and windy. Junk. But there is always next time.
My body is super sore from the driving range yesterday. I may have to put my golf career on hold until after Insanity is done.

288/365 - Punching bag in tree
Today was a busy day, we started off with church. Then we had my cousin's bridal shower at A Cup of Tea. I think it went really well. After that I was beat, so I took like a three hour nap. (I LOVE the weekends!) Then we went to the driving range for the first time in months and hit a bucket of balls. I'm really bad at golf, but I try. And finally did my Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit work out. Whew!
*Please note, it appears that we are going back in time if you are following by blog numbers. This is because I miss labeled Day 262 in July 2009 and Day 38 in December 2008. Oops. So we are actually at 288 and counting....

289/365 - Gooey Cinnamon Rolls w/Cream Cheese Icing
I bought a book today called Hungry Girl 200 under 200 by Lisa Lillien which has amazing recipes that are under 200 calories. Today I decided to try the Gooey Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing. It wasn't too hard to make and it was kind of fun trying something new. I learned a couple of things, like when the recipe says to have cream cheese at room temperature it means it because my icing became a little clumpy. But they were still pretty good and for just 200 calories it was awesome!

288/365 - Paper Toss
Downloaded a new game for free on my iPhone today. I've been hearing about this Paper Toss game for a while, but never really got around to looking in to it. So this afternoon when I got home from work I looked it up and downloaded it. And let me tell you, this game is totally addicting! The object is just to flick a crumpled piece of paper into the wastebasket. But they add it a fan that blows wind in different directions at different speeds to give it some difficulty. There are three different levels and the wastebasket get farther away in each level. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch and have a lot of free time. I highly recommend this game.

287/365 - Seminar/Small Group/Workout
Busy day! Started off with leaving home at 6:20am to beat traffic in to Waikiki. I had a Chamber of Commerce Employment Law Seminar today. As you can see from the picture it was a pretty big conference. I think there must have been around 350-400 people there, which is big for employment law. After that was done, I had to race through traffic to make it in time for small group. Then I finally got to come home around 8:45pm. Then we worked out in the garage to some Insanity Cardio Recovery. It may say recovery in the title but it is a pretty good workout. So it's been a long day and I'm going sleep!

286/365 - Meeting/Cafe Imperial
We had a meeting for Beachbody over at Imperial Plaza tonight. It was a business meeting to go over the program that Beachbody has for coaches. Pretty fun stuff.Afterwards, we headed downstairs to eat at Cafe Imperial. Although we are all supposed to be dieting, we had a cheat meal. I had the hirekatsu. Mmm! It was totally delicious. I ate most of my cabbage and tried to stay away from the rice and potato salad to make up for it.

285/365 - Salmon Tofu Patties
First of all, I know the picture is a little blurry, but I didn't realize this till just now and I already ate all my food so this will have to do.We had Salmon Tofu patties for dinner tonight and they were delicious! We got the recipe from my parent's friend from church, the ones we go to help out at KCC. They sell the patties at KCC on the weekends they are there. If you are interested, I know they will be there the 3rd and 5th Saturday in August. Also the recipe is on their website, http://www.4jshawaii.com. So check it out and enjoy!

284/365 - Portion Control
This was my dinner tonight. A little bit of salad, a little bit of chicken, one asparagus and two orange slices. I wasn't very hungry to begin with, but I'm also trying to cut down on my portion sizes. I know that I can eat a lot of food, so the less I have on my plate the better. I'm trying to be a little more observant with my diet because I've been letting it slip again. We had an awesome workout tonight, Insanity Fit Test and Upper Body workout. I'm pooped!

283/365 - Monopoly Time!
We broke out the Monopoly tonight. My fiance and my Dad played a game with me and it was a lot of fun! It's been a long time since I've played a board game so it was nice to just sit around and play. Usually we're sitting around playing video games or surfing the web. At the end, my Dad ended up smoking us both!Today was a rest day for Insanity which was kind of nice. Need to rest up the ankle because tomorrow is the Fit Test! I hope I improved.

282/365 - Monopoly
We went holo holo today to Waikele. It was fun to have a day with nothing planned (except for our workout). We went to Sport's Authority, ate some li hing mui shave ice with mochi balls and browsed around Border's, K-Mart and Game Stop. We saw this neat electronic banking Monopoly game and it looked really fun so my fiance bought it for me. :) We didn't get to play it yet, but maybe tomorrow. Tonight was also the first night that we doubled up on Insanity workouts. We had Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. That was bananas!
